Currently in February

I am joining the FAB-U-LOUS Farly at Oh Boy 4th Grade by linking up with her Currently!

It was a long day and I am just sitting here on the couch relaxing.  My hubby and son are at the San Antonio Rampage game.  It "Pink in the Rink" game supporting breast cancer.  I love hockey but I didn't want to go.... I am a party pooper and just wanted to chill at home.

I volunteered to sponsor the Solar Car club at my school with my awesome teaching partner, Jenna.  We start on Wednesday and neither of us really know what we are doing..... wish us luck! :)

Sooooo which one do you think is a lie?   Let's see if you are right....
I did play hockey in 9th grade - I was living in New Jersey and I played field hockey.  It was one of my favorite sports I ever played.
I do hate vegetables but I need to learn to eat them..... I need the vitiams
The fib is I love iced tea!  I actually HATE it!  I think I am the only one in Texas that hates iced tea!!!!!!

Have a great week my friends!

5 for Friday - Come see what went on this week!

I am linking up with Doodle Bug's Five for Friday linky party!  Here are 5 things representing my week!

School holiday on Monday for me so instead of doing anything productive I just snuggled up with my dog Daisy all day.

We are having a fundraiser right now called Pennies for Pasta.  It is to raise money for The Leukemia and Lymphoma society. Our school goal was to raise about 2,500 (which is about $3.00 per student).  I currently have 21 students and just ourselves we raised over $250! WOW!  We'll keep on collecting pennies (or more) for the next week.  By the way, the class that raises the most money get lunch provided by Olive Garden and tickets to the San Antonio Spurs (basketball) and San Antonio Rampage (hockey) tickets!

Here are some of my kiddos working on a Scholastic News magazine.  My entire class LOVES LOVES LOVES reading these.  Usually they read them together and then do the comprehension questions on the back independently.  We have such great discussion over these magazines!  I was able to get the Scholastic News from Donors Choose.  I have another project of Donors Choose open for only 4 more days... click here if you want to check it out.

Our 100th day of school is on February 5th and I am ready with this awesome new shirt I had made!

and last but not least something that NEVER EVER  rarely happens in San Antonio, Texas.....

We had a SNOW DAY today!  Well actually an ice day! There wasn't any snow where I live but it got so unusually cold and we had rain overnight which meant everything was frozen so they called school off today.  I know that sound pathetic to some of you who get 10 feet of snow and still go to school but we are not equipped here in South Texas to deal with frozen streets.  Above is my 16 year old son, Jake, acting like he is five while "playing" in the ice!

It actually stayed cold all day today but most of the ice has melted. In fact, tomorrow the temperature is suppose be 65 and on Sunday it will be 77 degrees........ yup, warm enough for shorts.  That's how we roll here in South Texas!

Tomorrow I am going to a workshop called Engage the Brain and then to dinner with some of my teammies.
I hope you all have an awesome weekend!

Stay warm friends!

Currently 2014!

Happy 2014 Everyone!  I am not real sad to see 2013 go and look forward to peace & happiness in the new year.

One of my goals/resolutions this year is to blog more regularly so why not start with Oh Boy 4th Grade's Currently linky!

My currently answers are pretty self explanatory.   My memory and NEW tradition is a fun trip we took to Frederickburg, TX.  Frederickburg is only a little over an hour away from where I live but we decided to spend a couple of days with my parents there in a bed and breakfast.  We stayed in different cabins but hung out together from breakfast until bedtime.  Our cabin had a little loft that my son slept in.  The breakfast was amazing!  Homemade everything, including fresh squeezed juice brought to us in our cabins.  We had so much fun that we may make this a tradition every year!   Here are a few pics from our little get away.  Our cabin had a cool

Happy New Year my fabulous froggy friends!
